Instructions

Physical Phones pair with any smartphone that has Bluetooth, both Android and iOS. Here is everything you need to get set up.

Pairing your phone

  1. Press and hold the 0 key on your Physical Phone to put it into pairing mode. The LED will blink blue when it is ready.
  2. Stay within about 10 feet of the Physical Phone while you pair.
  3. On your smartphone, open your Bluetooth settings and select the Physical Phone from the list. Scroll to the bottom of the list if it is not showing near the top.
  4. If it asks for a PIN, enter 2525.

Once paired, it reconnects automatically whenever your smartphone comes back into range, as long as Bluetooth is on.

Power

  • Battery power (rechargeable). A full charge takes about 4 hours. The red indicator light stays on while charging and turns off once the battery is full. You can leave it plugged in after it is charged.
  • Removable USB power cable that plugs into a wall outlet. We recommend a standard 5V adapter.

Making and receiving calls

  • Pick up the handset when it rings to answer, and hang up to end the call.
  • To dial out, punch the number into the keypad.
  • Or press * to activate your smartphone's voice assistant and say "Call [Contact Name]" into the handset.
  • Your Physical Phone follows your smartphone's ring settings. It still rings when your smartphone is on silent, but not when Do Not Disturb is on.
  • It also rings for WhatsApp, FaceTime, and Instagram audio and video calls, as long as those apps are allowed to ring through on your smartphone.

Using more than one phone

Up to 2 smartphones can pair with 1 Physical Phone at the same time. If either smartphone receives a call, the Physical Phone rings, and picking it up answers the call. Outbound calls use the smartphone that was paired most recently.

1 smartphone can pair with up to 5 Physical Phones at the same time, and they do not have to be the same design. When the smartphone receives a call, every paired Physical Phone rings and the call can be answered from any of them. A call in progress on one Physical Phone cannot be picked up or overheard from another.
